Dante Russo has worked behind the camera on a number of television shows and feature films including GleeThe Odd CoupleGrowing Up FisherThe New Normal, and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.  

Most recently, he is the recipient of the 3rd Annual ScreenCraft Screenwriting Fellowship. His short screenplay GRIEF was also selected as the Grand Prize Winner of the 2015 ScreenCraft Short Screenplay Contest and Semi-Finalist in the 2015 Creative World Awards.

Prior to his career in television, Dante wrote and directed Wiener & Wiener, a web-series about the misadventures of a chronically underachieving hot dog and his endlessly awkward human roommate.  He also wrote the musicals City of SilenceRadiant Ruby, and Extraordinary, which won ‘Outstanding Music & Lyrics’ at the 2005 NY International Fringe Festival and was produced at Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater in New York City.

A native New Yorker now living in Los Angeles, Dante is a graduate of Emerson College and a veteran of The Upright Citizens Brigade. He is a proud member of both Actors' Equity Association and Writers Guild of America.
