BIOGRAPHY.

1. My mother is a dancer. My father is a lawyer. They are both artists. When I was young (and most likely still to this day), a typical afternoon would consist of listening to The Beatles while en route to the New York City Ballet.

2. My sister teaches young children in New York City. Growing up as partners in crime, she taught me the valuable lesson that one should always adventure. She is a giver. When my brother was was young, he wanted to be a Broadway Producer. He also wanted to be the President of the United States. Currently working in The State Department, I have no doubt in my mind he will achieve both. My younger sister, Theresa, passed away when I was nine years old. She was five. She had microcephaly. She could not eat, speak, walk, run, dance, or jump...but she could smile. Now my family has a non-profit organization in memory of my sister which helps children with disabilities and their families. The Theresa Foundation.

3. I attended Emerson College for a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. I graduated (one year early) in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies: Acting and Directing. I could not see myself anywhere else.
4. My lung collapsed freshman year of college. Surgery + chest tube = three week visit to Massachusetts General Hospital. The doctor pulled my chest tube out without giving me any pain medication. It hurt.

5. At 19 years old, I lived in the Netherlands for fourteen weeks visitng thirteen European countries: France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Scotland, England, Denmark, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland. 9/11 was my first day of class.

6. During Summer 2002, I lived in Los Angeles for eight weeks. I spent my 20th Birthday interning at a casting office in Beverly Hills. I had a great tan.

7. At 21 years old, I spent the summer of 2003 creating (writing, producing, directing, choreographing) the new musical “The City of Silence”, which premiered for a limited three week engagement at The Boston Center for the Arts. It is a musical that takes place during World War II Nazi Germany.
8. On March 7, 2004, my family home burned down. We had to rebuild from scratch. It was a larger force in life telling my family we needed to clean out the attic.

9. I've recently ventured to the Far East after visiting Europe a forgotten number of times. I've toured the United States and Canada for fifteen months. I've been on a glacier in Alaska to whitewater rafting down the Colorado River. I've screamed while skydiving in the Swiss Alps, whispered countless prayers in Auschwitz I and II, and wept in Hiroshima. I skied in Canada, but never learned how to stop, so I threw myself into the snow. I've gone horseback riding on trails and beaches from Ireland to Mexico. I rode a donkey down a mountain in Greece. I've been to a bullfight, but it was canceled. We ate ice cream instead.

10. I've made friends. I've lost friends. The true ones still remain. I've made my family proud. I've frustrated them. They love me. I love them. I am afraid of death. I am afraid of living. I am currently learning to embrace both. It is hard.

Sometimes I feel as if I need therapy, but then I realize I'm just bored.
